First Customer Gets Golden

Digicel customer Seneca McIntosh is one of the first persons to gather all seven letters in the ‘Spell DIGICEL & Win’ 2011 Christmas promotion.

McIntosh successfully gathered the letters D.I.G.I.C.E.L and as a result is now in the running for one of seven cash prizes which includes the grand prize of EC$30,000. 

On Monday December 5th at Digicel’s Headquarters located in the Lewis Building on James Street, McIntosh met with Marketing Executive Justin John who explained to him the way the promotion works. John also used the opportunity to congratulate McIntosh and thank him for being part of the bigger better network. 

In response, McIntosh who is from the Grenadine island of Bequia and works onboard the Jayden Sun Fast Ferry as a purser said that he is looking forward to taking part in the finals. He added that if he wins the grand prize EC$30,000, the money will come in handy as he has a young daughter and has plans of building a house. 

For every top up of $15 or more customers receive a letter from the word “D-I-G-I-C-E-L” through a text message. Customers must collect all 7 letters to spell the word “DIGICEL” and he/she will automatically qualify for the grand prize draw.

McIntosh said that he has been topping up his handset ($15 and more) very frequently these days as he is communicating with his brother in Trinidad. He added that he thinks that he was very lucky to have gathered all seven letters.

“This is the first time that I have ever won anything from Digicel and I am glad”, said McIntosh. 

Meanwhile it was noted by John that the ‘Spell DIGICEL & Win’ is giving persons the chance to win over $250,000 in free credit, prizes and cash.

This year, the Christmas promotion which ends on January 31^st, 2012 offers all Digicel subscribers both prepaid and post-paid a chance to win over $250,000 in credit and prizes including EC$70,000 cash. Apart from weekly prizes, seven persons will be eligible to win cash prizes up to EC$100,000 during the promotion period (November 18^th 2011 to January 31^st 2012).

 Prepaid customers can win daily and weekly prizes by topping up EC$15 or more. For every top up of $15 or more customers automatically qualify for the daily prize of free credit as well as weekly prizes which includes, a Caribbean cruise for two, US$1000, a US$500 shopping spree compliments Aeropost, six months supply of groceries, a 42 inch TV compliments Singer, a living room set (Singer), a dining room set (singer), free data and EC$50 credit for every month for a year.

 Postpaid customers are eligible to win also. Post-paid subscribers must pay their bill in full and on time. Customers will receive one entry into the grand prize draw with every $15 paid towards their bill.

The letter or letters will come via a text message approximately 30 minutes from the top up or payment transaction. Winning customers will automatically receive a congratulatory text telling them that they have successfully collected all letters. They will also receive a call from a member of the Marketing Team.

Daily prize winners will receive free bonus credit and will be notified via text message.  Seven (7) finalists will be chosen at random for the grand prize draw. Persons who would have spelt DIGICEL throughout the life of the promotion will be placed in a random draw on February 4^th, 2012 when the seven finalists will be chosen.

During the grand finale, finalists will be randomly asked to choose a letter; each letter will be worth a different amount with the first place winner getting EC$30,000, 2^nd place receiving EC$15,000 and third place EC$10,000. Fourth and fifth place will win EC$5000 while sixth and seventh place will take home EC$2500.
