Digicel gives to the needy

 Digicel’s Social club brought joy to three families over the yuletide season with the delivery of food baskets on Wednesday December 21^st.

Receiving food baskets were Ingrid John of Campden Park, Judy Charles of Rillan Hill and Cynthia Richardson of Glen.

John who was at the time minding her two grandkids Kywan and the Kyron when the Digicel team arrived said that she felt happy about the donation as she was not working and had five children and three grandchildren living with her.

“This will help us out a lot and I would like to say thanks to Digicel, I love Digicel and this will go a long way”, said John.

In Rillan Hill, Charles commented, “I feel very good and I thank God that you came here; thanks for being passionate”. Charles’ family has seven members including two seven month old babies.
 
When the Digicel team visited Richardson in Glen, she was at home with her daughters Chrystal and Ophelia.

“This is good; it is the first time I ever got something from Digicel and its nice because I have four kids  and now that I got this gift I can enjoy Christmas; I feel real good now because I was wondering where I was going to get food for Christmas”, said Richardson.
 
Channel Manager and President of Digicel’s Social Club Gershom Dick said that the gift basket donations are done every Christmas as Digicel attempts to reach out to the less fortunate in the various communities.

The Digicel team was made up of Dick, Digicel’s Human Resource Manager Michelle Thomas and Digicel’s Odinga Lett and Marilyn Hutchinson. The team was assisted by 

Joan Scott, Family Affairs Division Case Worker Denise Harold and Deputy Director of the Family Affairs Division Margaret Cumberbatch. 

Last year the food basket initiative took place in Bequia.
